Motorists who use the road were on Monday 16th April advised to use other roots as heavy rain made the way impassable due to the flooding of River Birunda.
Through a statement Charles Njogu who is the assistant Director of Communications of the Kenya Highway Authority , he advised the motorists to use Kiminini through Kitale – Webuye road to access Birunda and Lukhome areas.
He added that the authority has told the contractor to construct a twin 5 by 2.5 mbox culvert to enable a flow of water and restore passage of traffic on the roads.
Other roads which have been made impassable by the floods are : Narok-Mai Mahiu Road near Suswa where a student drowned .
On Saturday a man was swept away while he was trying to cross over Charidende road in Tana River county.
Also at Kainuk River in Turkana 4 Trucks which were transporting goods to Lodwar were swept away.
